FSCQC: Holiday Pops

QC Symphony's Holiday Pops Concert Invited Skaters Back in 2011
As part of QC Symphony's visiting artists and QC Arts Festival of Trees, the Symphony secured Todd Eldredge, Olympic Skater http://www.toddeldredge.net/ for the 2011 Holiday Pops concert guest artist. Shari Baker acted as Skate Director for the Show. Sue Schwaegler was the Skate Liasion between the club and the Symphony. Kate Schwaegler and Elizabeth Pauley helped with rehearsals. Both are USFSA registered coaches. Casting of skaters was based on skating experience and presence on the ice as well as theme of the music. (See "How to Be Cast" link below.)

Since the Pops is not a FSCQC event and a QC Symphony event, the Skate Director must comply with the needs of the Symphony. Skaters from our club who have been cast have been contacted and are already underway with practice.

The Symphony held a Skate With Todd Eldredge public event that all of our members were invited to attend. A club photos was taken. The QC Symphony Holiday Pops Concert was Saturday, November 19, 2011.

The Symphony has been trying a variety of venues to keep the Holiday Pops Concert a fresh seasonal event. While it is uncertain whether the invitation will be extended to our local area skaters again, we are ever hopeful that the community continues to ask the skaters back. (Revised 1-2012)

The 2008 Holiday POPS Concert was held Saturday, November 22nd, 2008! Congratulations to the cast of skaters and coaches -Elena Kvitchenko Cockerell, Valerie Petcherski & Nataliya Petcherskaia- on another years' successful performance.
