Ice skaters from the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities will kick their heels and be hoot’n and holler’n at Quad City Sports Center in Davenport, Iowa on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 3:30 p.m.  A country fair theme will be featured for the annual Sizzle Skate ice performance.  The program will feature both beginning and advanced skaters of all ages.  Performances will include old country favorites as well as popular tunes with themed costumes.  Experience Cotton-Eyed Joe, Old McDonald, Firecracker, Green Acres and Hoedown Throwdown.  You’ll be utterly amazed by a skating Gurnsey!  And much more.  

River’s Edge Synchronized Skating Teams – The Ripples and The Waves – will also be performing as part of the Summer Sizzle event.  Tryouts for the youth and adult teams will begin in early September as they gear up for the Midwest-Pacific Synchronized Skating Sectionals to be held in Cedar Rapids January 2010.

 Sizzle Skate tickets are available at the door: Adults $8.00, Students $5.00 and Pre-school or younger free.  On-ice seating available on first arrival basis with a jacket recommended for the coolest seats in town.  Doors open at 3:00 p.m. with the show starting at 3:30 p.m.
