November 21, 2011 Minutes

 

Present: Craig and Gena McCullough, Susan Schwaelger, Melinda Olson, Susan Collins

 

          I.    October minutes approved.

        II.    Treasurer’s Report –

A.   Balances as of 8/31/2011 = Money Market - $6,318.03 and Checking - $ 31,581.84. 

B.   River’s Edge Synchro - $ 1,201.97.

III.        Membership Report – Currently has 72 members and added 7 in the last month.

IV. Old Business

A.   Approximately 75 skaters attended the skate with Todd Eldredge.

B.   iwireless Ice contract – Club has subsidized the ice rental ~ $3400 for September and October.  The rental price is declining as we rent more time.  The board agrees to continue to subsidize the rental.

C.   Fundraising - Plan to sell Dining Tour books at the Holiday show.

D.   Rainbo sports will be at the River’s Edge on 12/8/2011 from 1:30-6:30.

E.   Holiday Recital – 12/11/2011 Noon-2 pm at the iwireless.  The cost to have the show at the iwireless should be $1000 or less including ice rental, staffing, lights and sound.  Professional video taping may be done by Mediacom or the iwireless.

F.    National Skating Month- Open house/fundraiser will take place 12/30/11 5:45-7:45.  We plan to have a skate/dress sale and would like to have exhibition programs.

G.   Adult Nationals 2012– No new information.

H.   Club wear orders have been placed.

V. New Business

A. Test session 2012 will take place in conjunction with our June      competition.

B. Spring show is being planned for 4/29/2012 with rehearsal on 4/27/2012. 

C. River’s Edge would like the FSCQC to contract and buy ice time there.  We will consider this when evening ice time becomes available.

          I.    September minutes approved.

        II.    Treasurer’s Report –

A.   Balances as of 8/31/2011 = Money Market - $6,317.49 and Checking - $ 31,254.49.  Synchro - $ 1,192.97.

B.   Incoming money - waiting for Camp Freeze payment; Outgoing money – Ordered checks and paying Thrive ad bill.

       III.    Membership Report – We have 7 new members, 4 skaters and 3 parents bringing our total to 65 members.

      IV.    Old Business

A.   Rainbo Sports will be here Thurs 10/27 and 12/8 from 1:30 – 6:30 at the River’s Edge.

B.   iWireless dates for November are 7,8,9,14,21,22, and 28th.  Check emails for ice times each day.

C.   Fundraising – Dining books are available.  Members are urged to use the club code when ordering tickets to iwireless events.

D.   Adult Nationals – Our club will be coordinating the Competitors’’ Party on Saturday April 14th.  We will need to organize a DJ, cash bar, food and prizes/raffle.

E.   Holiday Recital is planned for Sunday December 11th from noon to 2pm. 

F.    Sue is working on a test session for Sunday December 4th.

G.   National Skating Month – Working with the River’s Edge to determine date between Christmas and New Year’s during public session.

H.   River’s Edge Synchro – he new young synchro team has more than 8 members.  Will try to compete at Basic 1 or 2 level.

I.      Will continue verbal discussions with the River’s Edge staff concerning ice conditions.

       V.    New Business

A.   A club skate wear order will be compiled for the new members and any reorders.

B.   Information about “How to be Cast in the Holiday Pops” is now available on the FSCQS.

VI.  Next meeting – November 21, 2011 at the iWireless
