FSCQC Current Events and Activities

Monthly Board Meetings:  3rd Mondays in 2013 at 6pm. at iWireless (September - February) and The River's Edge (March-August).

All members are welcome to attend.  If you have something new to share with the board, concerns,  show ideas, fundraising opportunitities, social event ideas, etc. please send Susan Collins an e-mail  or just come to the meeting.

New Members:  New and renewal memberships are still being taken for the 2012-2013 year (July 1- June 30).  For more information on the FSCQC membership go to the Home page of FSCQC website for a downloadable membership packet.  Forms for 2012-2013 year are posted.  Contact Melinda Olson, FSCQC Membership chair if you have any questions.
 
Skaters are in the midst of competition season.  Families, please make sure your skater is watchful of other skaters and utilize the orange sashes when running through programs.  
 
iWireless Ice - Skating has concluded unless the club can make arrangements in April when The River's Edge ice is down. The pricing is Members = $10/hr (in 30 min increments) and Non-Members = $15/hr with a cap of 10 sessions.  After 10 sessions a Non-Member would need to join as a Junior Member, Associate Member or full Member. The club has $100 punch cards ($5 per punch) for iWireless ice time.  Please look for a Board Member with the green book to pay for ice.
 
Here are the typical club ice hours are as follows but will depend on ice availability:
Monday – 5:45 - 6:45(1 hr)
Tuesday – 4:30 – 7 (2.5 hrs)
Wednesday – 5 – 7 (2 hrs)
Thursday – 4 – 5:30 (1.5 hrs)
Check club e-mails for specific dates/days for iWireless schedule and The River's Edge schedule for ice times.
 
The River's Edge Ice:  The River's Edge sells punch cards in 15 minute increments, $3 per 15 minutes or $12 per hour for freestyle ice.  Check at the desk for details. 
 
Rainbo Sports -March 19th at The River's Edge... then back again in May
Club members should be receiving an alert via direct and/or club e-mails.  Rainbo Sports representatives will be at iWireless from 1:00 - 6:00 pm. for March 19, 2013. Please contact store representatives in advance with your skating needs, including scheduling sharpenings.

Clubwear Options
If you need to order a Club Jacket, please contact Laura Konrady at 563-355-3222 at Embroidme.  A child's sized jacket is ~ $90 with embroidery and adult size jacket is ~ $95.  Matching pants are also available. 

An alternative is Mama Bahama's Tees & Sweats at Northpark Mall has a decal used by some of the skaters for tee shirts. The store has a limited selection of girls' shirts but customers are welcome to bring any long or short sleeved shirt to have the decal applied.  

2013 Grand Prix Series -  The following competitions through the Illinois Skating Council enable skaters to earn points based on their participation and placement at selected competitions.  Those earning the highest points are invited to the Grand Prix Series competition at the end of the series.  The Quad Cities Championships is one of the Grand Prix events of the series.  Here are the competitions participating in the series:
